We are looking for a personable and reliable Prep Chef & Kitchen Porter. The successful individual is self-driven and motivated to be a constructive component of the Ardennes team. This role is ideal for those that are dependable, trustworthy, adaptable, and detail-oriented. If you are passionate about building your skills and contributing to a unique customer experience to complement our special destination, this is the role you’re looking for.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Prepare foods, vegetables and other pantry items for the culinary team

• Complete prep list as assigned by Head Chef

• Actively work both the hot and cold line during service

• Washing dishes with appropriate use of a large commercial washer

• Loading and organizing glassware, cutlery, etc. into trays for the washer 

• Monitoring dishwasher functionality and immediately reporting any inconsistencies

• Ensuring proper safety and sanitary measures are followed

• Washing work areas, refrigerators, cooking equipment, walls and floors

• Assembling, maintaining, and breaking down the dish machine

• Ability to maintain focus within a sometimes loud or busy environment

• Uphold all company policies and be a good ambassador of the Brewery Ardennes brand

• Act in a manner that is consistent with our mission, vision, and values

Required Experience

• Work experience as a Dishwasher, Kitchen Porter or Prep Cook in a restaurant or food-service environment

• Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed

• Time management skills

• Attention to detail and sanitation rules

• Flexibility and proactive attitude to complete various kitchen tasks

• Availability to work in shifts, during weekends and evenings

• Ability to bend, stand, and stoop for long periods of time, and working long hours in hot conditions

• Must be willing and able to pass background checks

• Must either be certified or get certification in Servsafe Food Safety Manager
